ICE Green Camp 2009

Venue: Shah Alam Malaysia Agriculture Park Bukit Cahaya Seri Alam

About 2.30pm, the registration for all the participants of Green Camp 2009 started. When I was in the bus, I was so sleepy. After listening to the radio, fall asleep but then really just for a while, we reached our destination--Bukit Cahaya. After placing all our stuff at the chalet, we were divided into 5 team--Autumn(yellow), Tsunami(blue), Volcano(red), Mahogany(brown) and Canopy(green). Then, we started our first game--Team Building. I was in the Volcano team. In this game, we have to come up with our maskot, cheer, and also a theme for our team. Finally, Tsunami team won this game.


After having our dinner, we had another game--Rise of The Atlantis. We were required to build something using the recyclable materials given. And as the results, Tsunami team won the game again. XD

Date: 1st August 2009
Time: 7.00am
Venue: Pengkalan Batu, Klang

Being wake up by the siren, we are actually heading to Pengkalan Batu for the River Cleaning Programme in coorperation with JPS Selangor. We had our Klang River cleaning and tree plantation just after the opening ceremony. When all the tasks had done, we are required to come out with a idea to improve the method of cleaning the river. Unexpected, my team--Volcano team won this game.

After the tiring tasks in the morning, we headed back to Bukit Cahaya. Rest for a while and listened to Mr Joe(from UK and currently as a part time lecturer at NUS, Singapore) and Mr Pauzi (from UPM) presentation. Next, we started to prepare our ingredients in order to cook our dinner. Actually not cook but it is a BBQ night. And in this BBQ session, we have to prepare a dish which can impress the judges--Mr Joe, Mr Chua and others. Again, my team won this game again. So happy.

At the night, we were having another games. In 45 minutes, we have to come out with a sketch no matter in what form, whether is a drama or musical regarding the theme given. With the cooperation of all team members, our team--Volcano team won the game again. Today really was our day. XD

Date: 2nd August 2009
Time: 6.00am
Venue: Bukit Cahaya

Woke up really early in the morning for the activity--Moonlight Walk. Actually no moonlight. We really walk in the dark around the area. When about 7am, we returned to the main hall and we just found out this was also a game for us. We have to answer the question regarding the things that around us during the walk. Sadly, everybody really were in a blur state. Finally Canopy team won this game. And the climax for this Green Camp--Wild Run. This is a game similar to Explore Race. But the thing that makes our team so angry was, our station was like to and fro. Furthermore, the distance between 2 station was damn damn damn far. Not like other teams. Haiz...this was our luck.... During the game, suddenly having a really heavy rain. We couldn't stop and the only choice was to run in the rain. We were totally wet inside out. Sadly (again), my spec dropped off and my team-mate accidentally stepped on it, luckily not broken, or esle my mum gonna kill me. Although at last the game was cancelled due to the heavy rain, sadly (3rd time) to say, we were the last team to reach. Mahogany team won this game and they have the free tickets to go to The Four Season Garden.

After Dr Chua and Ah Tan gave some talk, we were heading back to UNITEN. So, this is the end of the Green Camp.

I really enjoyed myself throughout the camp, and this is the first camp that makes me learn so much especially our softskills for example our presentation skill. Thanks all the committee from the Green Camp. You all done a really good job!!!
